Privacy

Introduce does not sell data or show ads. It keeps what the app needs to work, and counts how many people download and use it without knowing who they are.

Your account and your church

Using the app takes an account. It keeps:

  • Your email address and, if you give it, your name.
  • Your password, hashed. Nobody can read it, including whoever runs the service.
  • The church you belong to, your role in it (administrator or member) and the church's name.
  • The country the church was registered from. Only the country, worked out from the internet address, which is not kept.

What your church creates

Songs, services, designs, photos, videos and announcements are stored so the whole team has them on any computer. Only approved members of that church can see them.

The app also records what was projected and when, with each song's CCLI number, for the church's history and licence report.

What is counted without knowing who you are

To know how many people use Introduce and from which countries:

  • When you press Download on this site, the system (Mac or Windows), the country and the date are recorded.
  • When the app opens, it records a random number that identifies that computer (no name or email attached), the app version, the system, the country and, if someone is signed in, the church.

The country is worked out from the internet (IP) address using the free DB-IP database, and the address is not kept.

What never leaves the computer

  • The Bible and searches in it.
  • Phone control: it works inside the church's Wi-Fi without going through the internet.
  • What is projected while offline, until the connection is back.

Other services involved

  • GitHub hosts the download files, and the app asks it whether a new version is out. GitHub receives those requests under its own privacy policy.
  • Google Fonts serves this site's typeface, so Google receives the address of whoever visits.
  • The app's data is stored on a server of our own at DigitalOcean.

This site uses no cookies and no tracking tools.
